Sheila

“This project was inspired by a discarded copper-wire bread basket that cried out for a face. I had many beaded items in my collection looking for a home, so Sheila evolved as a found-item sculpture, of sorts. A beaded belt for hair, an African headdress for a hat, fish wind chimes for her earrings. Original beading completed her charming face—her nose was sculpted around a tennis ball, her mouth was a lush freeform creation, her eyes constructed with dangle beads, a beaded pearl collar for the radiant whites, and cork eyelids. She was so much fun to construct; I look forward to finding new embellishments that can only enhance her unrivaled beauty.”
