“This necklace, called Faith, posed a creative challenge for me. The original idea that sprang into my mind was a crown of thorns, from that evolved a necklace with a ‘barbed wire’ cord and cross. I used silk ribbon (that I singed to look worn) and leather cord for the body of the necklace and a stone cross for the focal; both were embellished with seed beads. The result was way off from my original thoughts, but nothing new for me! I have this on display in a local gift shop right now, and can’t quite bring myself to put a price tag on it—it’s not something I would normally wear, but yet it has my name ‘written’ all over it.”
