Celebrating 15 Years: Top 5 Fave Crochet Patterns of All Time
This year, we are celebrating 15 years of Interweave Crochet! For the past 15 years, we have been bringing you articles, techniques, and, of course, crochet patterns. Today, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate five of our most popular patterns of all time. In the past 15 years, we have released more than 1,470 crochet patterns from over 300 talented designers. Some of our most popular designs are from more recent publications, but others are a blast from the past!

Babette Blanket by Kathy Merrick
Originally published in Interweave Crochet Spring 2006, the Babette Blanket by designer Kathy Merrick was inspired by the work of Kaffe Fassett and Liza Prior Lucy. The modular design of the blanket makes it one of those great crochet patterns that you can take with you anywhere. Just pop the square you’re working on in your purse, and you’ll be ready to go!
Yesteryear Top by Mimi Alelis
The vintage-inspired Yesteryear Top by designer Mimi Alelis was first published in Interweave Crochet Summer 2018. This romantic top is worked from the top down with a circular yoke using 100% cotton yarn for a breathable summer garment. While it was originally styled as a crop top, the pattern is easily adjustable to any length.
Fable Cowl by Juliette Bezold
The lush and cozy Fable Cowl by designer Juliette Bezold is the perfect winter accessory. Originally published in Interweave Crochet Winter 2018, the pattern uses twisted Tunisian stitches to create a dense, textured fabric that is reminiscent of knitted brioche. Crocheted in a wool/acrylic blend, this chunky cowl is sure to become a cold weather staple.
Time-Honored Sweater by Natasha Robarge
The stunning Time-Honored Sweater by designer Natasha Robarge was originally published alongside the Yesteryear Top in Interweave Crochet Summer 2018. A combination of cables and mesh create an eye-catching open stitchwork design, making it the perfect sweater for cool summer nights.
Boteh Scarf by Kathy Merrick
Named for the curving motif that originated in Persian design, the Boteh Scarf by designer Kathy Merrick was originally published in Interweave Crochet Spring 2007. This slim and elegant scarf uses a modular construction for an eye-catching design, and in a superwash wool/nylon blend yarn, it’s sure to be both sturdy and cozy.
I hope some of these crochet patterns bring you inspiration for your crochet journey this year.
Happy Stitching,
Julia
