Interweave Knits Spring 2018: Bergen Peak Pullover
The Bergen Peak Pullover features updated takes on two classic techniques: Fair Isle and cables. This handsome pullover has owing staghorn cables at the yoke and a striking graphic colorwork band. It is worked in the round from the bottom up.
Pattern Details
FINISHED SIZE 36 (40 3⁄4, 44 1⁄2, 48, 51 1⁄2)” chest circumference. Pullover shown measures 44 1⁄2″; modeled with 4 1⁄2″ of positive ease.
YARN Cascade Yarns Longwood (100% superwash extrafine merino wool; 191 yd [175 m]/3 1⁄2 oz [100 g]): #40 midnight (MC), 7 (8, 8, 9, 10) skeins; #46 cream (CC1) and #30 silver heather (CC2), 2 skeins each.
NEEDLES Size 6 (4 mm): 16″ and two 32” circulars (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 7 (4.5 mm): 24″ and 32″ cir and set of dpn. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Markers (m); cable needle (cn); size G/6 (4 mm) crochet hook; waste yarn; stitch holders; tapestry needle.
GAUGE 20 sts and 28 rnds = 4″ in St st with MC on larger needle; 20 sts and 23 rnds = 4″ in colorwork patt on larger needle (see Notes); 24 sts and 28 rnds = 4″ in cable patt on larger needles.
