Interweave Knits Spring 2018: Torque Hat

The textured, casual Torque Hat is available in slouch and beanie styles suitable for any road nomad. The band is worked in half linen stitch and is adjustable when paired with a leather snap closure.

Pattern Details

FINISHED SIZE 19 1⁄4″ circumference before installing snap and 7 1⁄4 (8 3⁄4)” tall. Blue hat shown measures 7 1⁄4″ tall and gray hat shown measures 8 3⁄4″ tall.

YARN Manos del Uruguay Alegría (75% superwash merino wool, 25% polyamide;
445 yd [405 m]/3 1⁄2 oz [100 g]): #A2419 blueberry or #A2540 kohl (gray), 1 skein. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.

NEEDLES  Size 3 (3.25 mm): 16″ circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTIONS  Markers (m); one leather snap closure; matching thread; sewing needle; tapestry needle.

GAUGE 29 sts and 43 rnds = 4″ in charted patt.
