Description
Worked up in a ridiculously soft superwash merino wool yarn, Bayard is a wonderful transitional piece. Its fall color can replace the autumn foliage one might not find south of the Mason-Dixon Line.
Finished Size: About 71⁄2 (81⁄2)” (19 [21.5] cm) foot circumference, 91⁄2 (10)” (24 [25.5] cm) foot length from back of heel to toe, 11 (111⁄4)” (28 [28.5] cm) from cuff to base of heel.
Socks shown measure 71⁄2″ (19 cm) in foot circumference.
Yarn: Fingering weight (#1 Super Fine).
Shown here: Crystal Palace Mini Mochi (80% merino wool, 20% nylon; 195 yd [178 m]/13⁄4 oz [50 g]), #327 Georgia peach, 2 balls.
Needles: Size U.S. 1.5 (2.5 mm): 40″ (100 cm) circular (cir) for magic loop method, or set of 4 or 5 double-pointed (dpn).
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle.
Gauge: 30 sts and 36 rnds = 4″ (10 cm) in St st.
