Description

Use your favorite beading loom to create these stylish bead loom bracelet patterns. Bead looming is one of the most traditional beading techniques, but its versatility allows for nearly any type of pattern you can imagine. Learn how to weave chevron, leaf, and geometric motifs. These five bead loom projects will teach you how to get started, weave the bracelets, and finish the ends in a variety of ways.

To loom bracelets with beads, you will need a few supplies: beads, thread, clasp, loom, scissors, needle. This style of beading is easy to learn and very portable. Each loom bracelet project is created row-by-row. Place your materials and supplies on a tray so can easily weave your bead loom bracelet pattern on the go.

Bead looms vary by style or brand and people prefer certain characteristics more than others. Ease of assembly, portability, and amount of necessary thread are a few factors to consider. But you can easily adapt any bead loom project to accommodate your favorite beading loom. Some people even make their own looms out of cardboard!

Loom size is another factor to consider when choosing a bead loom. To make a bead loomed bracelet, you will need a loom that’s at least 9” long. If your loom is shorter than 9”, it’s still possible to use it for bracelets. You will need to make two beaded sections and stitch them together.

Jewel Loom inventor Julianna Avelar offers these tips for bead loom projects: “If you’re an off-loom beader, forget what you know about beading!” Bead looming is different because the needle glides through the beads in a line rather than stitching through a motif. Julianna advises you to take your time, read the instructions for your bead loom projects, and have faith as you follow the bead loom bracelet patterns. Gently remove your loom bracelets with beads from the loom and finish them with slide clasps for extra ease.
