Beaded lace is not as hard to make as it looks; seed beads lend themselves perfectly to various methods of lacemaking. Beaded lace makes wonderful jewelry or can be framed as art; projects can be as small as a pair of earrings, or as large as your imagination. Join Cynthia Newcomer Daniel for this web seminar that will teach you how to adapt traditional lace patterns to bead weaving, and how to create your own designs using various lace making and bead weaving techniques. Cynthia will cover the structure of various forms of lace, and will present various ways to use these elements with seed beads.
Cynthia has spend many years making lace, including: needle lace, punto in aria, bobbin lace, crochet lace, tatted lace, macramé, and embroidered laces including hardanger, cut work, and pulled work. Seed beads have always reminded her of the stitches and knots in lace; she was very excited to discover that beaded lace works up beautifully, and finishes so much faster than lace made with thread alone.
In this web seminar you will learn:
How to make lace using seed beads and off-loom bead weaving techniques.
Important traditional lace-making techniques and structures.
Tips and techniques for identifying the structural elements of lace.
Important information about which bead weaving stitches can be used to make lace and how to use them correctly.
Discover how to design your own beaded lace and turn it into jewelry.
And much more!

Does not have any beading patterns or instructions. 1 hour of talk on lace structure and where to get ideas. Not what I expected.
