Description
In this stole, the designer plays with mixed yarn weights: The same laceweight merino used for the open mesh is tripled for the diagonal garter ridges. Completely reversible, the stole relies on an extremely simple, four-row lace repeat; garter stitch; and strong geometry for interest.
Finished Size: 14″ wide and 66″ long after blocking, not including fringe.
Yarn: Skacel Collection Merino Lace (100% merino; 1375 yd [1257 m]/100 g): #93 (burgundy), 1 skein.
Yarn weight: #0 – Lace
Gauge: 18 sts and 32 rows = 4″ in lace mesh pattern (after blocking); each diagonal stripe (12 rows of lace mesh plus 3-strand garter ridge and 1-strand garter ridge) = 2″ wide.
Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 2 (2.75 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle; crochet hook.
