Description

These socks approach the problem of pooling sock yarn by rethinking the sock’s structure: instead of the traditional vertical tube, they cleverly alternate flat garter-stitch strips with in-the-round ribbing. The frequent change in knitting direction sends the yarn’s colors shooting every which way, ingeniously breaking up unattractive splotches. The unconventional structure also keeps these socks interesting to knit, even if you’ve made many pairs of socks before.

Finished Size: 6 (7, 8)” (15 [18, 20.5] cm) foot circumference; 7V (8V, 9V)” (19 [21.5, 24] cm) foot length from back of heel to tip of toe.

Needles: U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle.
