Ramate Wrap Knit Pattern Download

$7.99

The Ramate Wrap is inspired by the gorgeous floral textiles and wallpapers designed and printed by William Morris & Co. in the late 1800s. Two-color brioche stitch creates the vining movement through the wings of the shawl, while the center band features mosaic stitch. The result is a stunning project made from a special blend of Viking Norwegian wool and Merino wool that is both beautiful and warm.

Notes

For techniques you don’t know, visit our online glossary at www.interweave.com/interweave-knitting-glossary.

This shawl is worked in two pieces. Side 1 begins at the tip of the left wing and ends with the center mosaic panel. Side 2 begins at the tip of the right wing. The two halves of the shawl are joined using a three-needle bind-off.

The use of lifelines in this shawl is recommended.

The Brioche stitch sections of this shawl are worked with a slip-stitch chain selvage in the light color (LC). It is import-ant to work edge stitches loosely.

Each row is worked twice: once with LC, then once with dark color (DC). Two RS rows are followed by two WS rows. At the end of every LC row, slide work to other end of needle. At the end of every DC row, turn work.

The Mosaic Garden center section includes a four-stitch intarsia border on each side of the charted Mosaic Garden pattern.
