Description
These lovely stars work up quickly in size 10 thread and make beautiful tree ornaments, gift tags, or window decorations. Stiffen with glue for lasting beauty.

Finished Size: Star flake #1: about 4″ from point to point; star flake #2: about 3¾” from point to point; star flake #3: about 3½” from point to point.
Specific Yarn Used: Nazli Gelin Garden 10 (distributed by Universal Yarn) (100% cotton; 306 yd [280 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #700-02 cream, 1 ball.
Hook: Size 5 (1.9mm) steel hook.
Notions: Yarn needle; stitch markers (m), 5; glue, small paintbrush; cardboard or foamcore; wax paper or plastic wrap; stainless steel pins.
Gauge: Gauge is not critical for this project.
Notes:
- Star flakes #1 and #2 are worked in joined rounds. Do not chain at beginning of rounds unless otherwise stated.
- Star flake #3 is made in a single continuous round, one point at a time. When making flat-loop picots, do not let working loop slip off the hook. If it does, be sure to replace it in the proper orientation. Star flake #3 will be very curly. Place a stitch marker in each completed point to help prevent twisting.
