Description

This waistcoat’s turned-back lapels and striking diagonals contrast with a rustic, bricklike texture and flattering lines across the body. A woolen-spun 100% wool blurs and softens the stitches.

Finished Size: 33 (36 ½, 40, 44, 48 ½)” bust circumference, with fronts overlapped about 6 (5 ¾, 6, 5, 4 ¾)” at bustline. Vest shown measures 33″, modeled with about ½” positive ease.
Yarn: Rowan Scottish Tweed DK (100% wool; 123 yd [112 m]/50 g): #019 peat (dark brown, MC), 5 (5, 6, 6, 7) balls; #025 oatmeal (CC), 3 (3, 3, 3, 4) balls. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.
Yarn weight: #3 – Light
Gauge: 19 sts and 26 rows = 4″ in textured patt on middle-size needles; 21 sts and 21 rows = 4″ in colorwork patts on largest needles.
Needles: Back and fronts textured patt-size 7 (4.5 mm). Front colorwork patt-size 8 (5 mm). Edgings-size 6 (4 mm): 24″ and 16″ circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
