Description
Knee socks are great transseasonal socks–wear with a pretty skirt for warm days or under jeans for an extra layer on cold days. Kate designed these in a sport weight yarn to help speed up the knitting. Finished Size: 6½ (7, 7½, 7¾, 8¼, 9)” (16.5 [18, 19, 19.5, 21, 23] cm) foot circumference, 8 (8¾, 9½, 10, 10½, 10¾)” (20.5 [22, 24, 25.5, 26.5, 27.5] cm) long from back of heel to tip of toe, and 10¼ (11, 11¼, 11, 11½, 12¼)” (26 [28, 28.5, 28, 29, 31] cm) calf circumference; foot length is adjustable. Socks shown measure 7″ (18 cm).
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Sportmate (70% superwash merino wool, 30% Outlast® viscose; 270 yd [247 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #61ns Washington, 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3) skeins.
Needles: U.S. size 3 (3.25 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
Gauge: 26 sts and 39 rnds = 4″ (10 cm) in St st.
