Slipstitch patterns make colorwork easy and endlessly variable. Three skeins of yarn is enough for the small hat, the medium hat, and the cowl if you change up the main colors.

Finished Size: Hat: 18¾ (19¾ , 22½ )” circumference at brim and 6¼ (7¼ , 8¼ )” tall. Light teal hat shown measures 18¾ “; medium teal hat shown measures 19¾ “. Cowl: 6″ wide and 50¾ ” circumference.
Yarn: Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted Superwash (100% superwash wool; 220 yd [200 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #749 smoke heather (gray; A), #715 teal viper (med teal; B) and #739 turquoise (lt teal; C), 1 ball each.
Needles: Size 7 (4.5 mm): 16″ and 36″ circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Marker (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge: 17 sts and 32 rnds = 4″ in chart patts; 18 sts and 24 rnds = 4″ in St st.
